day 5: baby sis is going to live next door to the iron maiden...

yeah let's just admit right now that daily posts are not my thing, even though i publicly tried to commit to the cause.

this post is dedicated to my little sis going on her fantastic french adventure -- a.k.a. moving to france.  of course, in true sautner fashion, as soon as we move onto a new part of our lives we have to start our own blog!  i love blogs.  you're still checking up on mine, so you must love them, too.

here's the link to her blog -- let's hope she's more dedicated then i am!
(& she has a new french word listed at the end of each blog - such a creative one!)

love you sister & i can't wait to hear all about you're escapades!

day 3: lonertown.

yeah, i skipped day 2.  does it count if i thought about writing?

anyways, jack & i have been together for 12 days straight.  day & night.  he's been amazing, except for the rat carcass he pulled into clint & conni's house.  (we've been housesitting this week.)  that was a moment of panic & horror that still gives me chills!  if it wasn't for the pointy snout & tail, i probably would've picked it up with my hands.  blah!

much love for you puppy, but i'm getting sick of you're shenanigans.

in case you need evidence that he can find trouble:

one of his faves...

destroyed.
moist cotton is disgusting.  especially when is ground into the carpet.

day 1: we're alive!

way back when, i heard the quote: "it only takes 21 days to start a habit!"  probably from biggest loser.  i must admit that i have no idea if it's true, because i've never made it to the 21st day with anything.  so i'm going to do another addition of "7 days of updates."  it's only 1/3 of the habit-building timeframe, but it's all i'm willing to commit to, so here goes!

this past weekend, we had a visit from the evanoff clan (minus ashley).  i had to work for the majority of the time that they were here, but the party went on without me.  here's some photo-moments that were captured while i was present.

a quick trip to half moon bay to give travey his first ocean experience & wander along the coast:

jack got straight to business.

love this picture!

i don't know why i found this so funny, but i couldn't get past it!  luckily, diane laughed when i reenacted it!

the brothers dared to go in...

it looked like fun...

but they quickly turned hot pink in the ice cold water!

this is my favorite picture from the day!
next up, diane and i took henrik to the palo alto jr. museum & zoo, a.k.a. my place of employment during the year.  so, of course, this was the highlight of their visit!  henrik was an explorer & did an amazing job with the other kiddos (of all ages) migrating from station to station & animal to animal!

this was his favorite station -- it was the tennis balls that did him in!
he was double-fisting them for a good 10 minutes after moving on.

he didn't understand quite what was happening, but he loved it!

he got this one though!
go henrik go!

more wheels.

when he wasn't spinning wheels, he took the time to observe some of the other visitors.  most of them were older, so it was interesting to see him try the same things that they did!

we also took a detour to the baby nook.  totally realize that he's not a baby, but there was a huge attraction & he was my golden ticket!

SEE!  how cool is that?

not sure if he liked being stuck in the cocoon, but he went with it anyway.

this would be the perfect fort, right?

m & a, you are welcome for exposing him to the magical world of zoology :)
the cameleon was the best in my opinion!

butterfuly room with night sounds.  he was in a fit of giggles in the mini-closet -- so cute!

he didn't want to leave!

we just kind of let him wander...

attempting to show him the peacock!

the lizard pit!

such a sweet moment!

favorite picture from zoo day!

h also found a back corner & ran into the peacock!  go h!

gross right?  it's his mouth that's the creepiest.  it's like it's full of expired yogurt.

h loved it.  ish.

in case you, too, wondered what it was!
lovely visit evanoffs!  hope to see you soon!  how about september?
